Addressing the U.S. Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony organized by RTYC-NYNJ

Reprenstative Penpa Tsering left Washington, DC on Thursday, October 13, 2016 for 10 day long trip to New York and New Jersey. During this trip, Representative Penpa Tsering visited various different Tibetan Buddhist Centers within the New York and New Jersey area in order to connect with these centers.

On Friday, October 14, 2016 Representative Penpa Tsering attended a reception for Chinese friends of Tibet where he gave the keynote address to over 100 attendees. On Saturday, October 15, 2016, Representative Penpa Tsering was the chief guest at the RTYC- NYNJ’s Congressional Gold Medal Commemoration ceremony at Armenian Church and later that, Rep. Penpa had a chance to interact with 30 young Tibetans from New York & New Jersey area.

Engaging Tibetan Youth of New York & New Jersey

On Saturday, October 16, 2016 Representative Penpa Tsering gave talk to New York & New Jersey Tibetan community in Jackson Heights, New York. During the talk, Rep. Penpa highlighted the responsibilities and role of the Office Tibet representing His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Central Tibetan Administration. He also shared his future priorities for the North American Tibetan community: connecting with Tibetan Buddhist centers and collaborating more these centers and putting more in effort in fundraising to becoming more self-reliant as North American Tibetan community.

Public Talk to Tibetan Community of New York & New Jersey

On Tuesday, October 18, 2016 Representative Penpa Tsering had lunch with Tibet Fund Board Members and on Wednesday evening, October 19, Representative Penpa Tsering attended the 7th Annual Tibet Fund Gala in New York City.
