Announcement: SEE Learning Training Workshop to be Held for North American Tibetan Weekend School Teachers & Staff

Washington DC: The Office of Tibet, Washington DC, and Northwest Tibetan Cultural Association (NWTCA) are jointly organising a seminar on See Learning for teachers and staff of weekend schools in the West Coast area of the United States from 12 to 14 April 2024.

This workshop was organised in accordance with the resolution adopted during the 21st North American Tibetan Association’s conference in Toronto last year and will be held at the Northwest Tibetan Cultural Center. Three highly qualified teachers, namely Geshe Lobsang Tenzin Negi, Professor of Emory University; Tsondue Samphel, Assistant Director of Education of the Center for Compassionate and Responsible Social Actions; and Researcher Tenzin Sonam, were invited as resource persons for the workshop.

This three-day workshop will be attended by 50 participants, including teachers and parents from the weekend schools, and the mayor of Camas, Steve Hogan, will grace the workshop’s opening ceremony on its first day.

Considering the importance of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s noble aspiration of benefitting all living beings through the promotion of SEE Learning, it is of the essence that all Tibetans, not only the weekend school teachers and staff, must pay particular attention to it. Therefore, the entire three-day workshop will be streamed on YouTube at 8:15 am (EST).

The Office of Tibet-Washington DC expresses its sincere appreciation to weekend school teachers and staff for their participation and to Northwest Tibetan Cultural Association for organising this workshop with support from The Tibet Fund.

For any queries, kindly contact Kalsang Dongthok (253 293 2398 ), the chairman of the Northwest Tibetan Cultural Association, and Khando Gyal (303 250 4733 ), the Education Officer.
