Q3. Who will count the votes?

A3. Members of the North American election committee comprised of election officers and observers from across North America. These members were either elected or appointed by the community they represent.

Q4. Why does it take a week to begin the vote counting?

A4. United States and Canada are two large countries and voting ballots have to be shipped to Washington, DC from thirty-three communities across the continent. More than twenty election officers and observers have to make their travel arrangements to fly to Washington, DC to count the votes. All this add up to more time and does not make it possible to count the votes right the next day after elections. The actual counting will be completed in a day.

Q5. What happens when ballot boxes are shipped to the Office of North American Tibetan Election Commission in Washington, DC?

A5. Each ballot box/package is recorded and safely stored. The sealed boxes and packages will be unsealed and opened on March 26 in front of the election committee members who will be present in Washington, DC for the counting of the votes.

Q6. How will the results be announced?

A6. The results bearing the signatures of the North American Election Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and all the election committee members who have participated  in the counting will be made public either on the evening of March 26 or latest by morning of March 27^th. The results will be posted on the Office of Tibet Website and Facebook page.
