Pushing the Tibet Issue during US President-Elect’s Transition Period

Washington, D.C.: Three weeks ago, 2016 US Election resulted in the election of Mr Donald Trump as the next President of the United States. The transition period, leading up to the Presidential inauguration, is a crucial period wherein the most important post in the new administration will be filled in pending confirmation by the US Congress.

Preceding and following the Thanksgiving holidays, the Office of Tibet – Washington, DC in collaboration with International Campaign for Tibet based in Washington, DC have made concerted effort to reach out to as many bipartisan congressional members and leadership in both the House and the Senate. The effort is aimed at putting the Issue of Tibet in the forefront of US Foreign Policy.

Among many leaders and staffers they met with, the influential and long time supporter of Tibet, Senator Diane Feinstein who assured continued support.
