Office of Tibet welcomes the US House Foreign Affairs Committee’s consideration of the Resolve Tibet Act

The Tibet legislation, HR.533, known as the Resolve Tibet Act, received an amendment from
House Foreign Affairs Committee Ranking Member Gregory Meeks (D-NY). The Office of Tibet
supports the modifications made to the bill and hopes the House Foreign Affairs Committee
pass the bill out of committee.
The amended bill reiterates the US Congress’s bipartisan support for the just cause of the
Tibetan people and their non-violent path to achieve a long-lasting peaceful solution.
“The Resolve Tibet Act sends a clear message to Beijing that the only way forward is through
dialogue to find a mutually beneficial and long-lasting peaceful solution to the unresolved Tibet-
China conflict,” said Representative Namgyal Choedup.
“On behalf of the Tibetan people, I would like to express our deep gratitude to Representative
Jim McGovern, Chairman Michael McCaul, and Ranking Member Gregory Meeks for their
unwavering commitment in advancing this bill and the just cause of Tibet. We eagerly look
forward to the successful passage of the Tibet bill through the committee.”
