DHARAMSHALA: Sikyong and Education Kalon Dr. Lobsang Sangay today released three Tibetan language textbooks to be taught at weekend language classes to Tibetan children in North America.
Sikyong remarked: “I applaud the Tibetan communities in North America, especially the voluntary teachers for organizing weekend language class for the young children, the former and current representative of the Office of Tibet, Washington for their contribution in the project.”
The Director of Education council, Mr Tsering Samdup apprised the gathering of the upcoming release of Tibetan language textbooks for children of class 3, 4 and 5 and class 6, 7, 8 in September 2016.
The three textbooks will be taught to children of class 1, 2 and kindergarten during their weekend language class in various Tibetan communities in North America. The project was ideated by members of Tibetan community in North America, supported and facilitated by the former and current representatives of the Office of Tibet, Washington DC and finalized by the Department of Education, CTA.
