Dharamshala: Sikyong Penpa Tsering of the Central Tibetan Administration wrote to MP Garnet Genuis, extending him gratitude for introducing the Middle Way Approach proposal and achieving unanimous support of Canada in the passage of motion endorsing Tibet’s Middle Way Approach and supporting the resumption of a dialogue between the Tibetan representatives and the Chinese government.
In a letter dated 20 December 2022, Sikyong thanked and appreciated the stalwart Tibet supporter’s steadfast leadership and unparalleled support in achieving the Canadian Parliament’s unanimous support in the motion’s passage to resolve the long-standing Sino-Tibetan conflict.
Sikyong writes, “Your presence at the House has always been a great source of hope, inspiration and assurance for the Tibetans. We are forever grateful for your unflinching pursuit to advance the cause of Tibet and for actively voicing the hopes and aspirations of Tibetans inside Tibet”. He further reassures hope in the leadership of MP Garnett, Vice-Chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, in calling out the efforts of the Chinese government’s repressive model worldwide.
“Once again, on behalf of the CTA and the Tibetan people, please accept my sincere and heartfelt gratitude for your commitment and friendship to the Tibetan cause,” the letter concludes.
