The Office of Tibet attended Human Rights Day Breakfast hosted by The Czech Embassy.

Washington-DC: On Monday, 11 December 2023, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Washington DC hosted its Human Rights Day Breakfast at the residence of the Czech Ambassador. Chinese Liaison Officer Tsultrim Gyatso on behalf of the Office of Tibet attended the event. Delegates from the Center for a Free Cuba also attended the event.

Czech Ambassador Miloslav Stašek with Ramzi Abu-Eid, Head of Political Section and Jan Woska, Head of Public Diplomacy Culture Attaché warmly greeted the guests at the breakfast and highlighted the historical background of the event. Ambassador Miloslav highlighted human rights as one of the top priorities of the Czech Republic’s foreign policy and recalled his memory of celebrating His Holiness’s birthday at his residence when he served as the Czech Ambassador to India.

Tsultrim Gyatso updated the current situation of Tibet to the Ambassador and thanked him for extending the invitation and prioritising human rights issues as an important part of their diplomacy. He further expressed appreciation to the Czech Republic for hosting the 2023 International Religious Freedom or Belief Alliance Ministerial Conference and providing the space to Tibetan delegates for their presentation on religious issues in Tibet.
