Dharamshala: At the invitation of the U.S. Ambassador to India, His Excellency Sergio Gor, Sikyong Penpa Tsering of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), accompanied by Kalon (Minister) Norzin Dolma of the Department of Information and International Relations (CTA) and Representative Jigme Jugney of the Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in New Delhi, attended the Freedom 250: Independence Day Reception in Delhi on 24 May 2026 alongside delegates from various countries.
The reception featured remarks by U.S. Secretary of State Honourable Marco Rubio, Indian External Affairs Minister Honourable Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, and U.S. Ambassador to India His Excellency Sergio Gor, as well as a musical performance by renowned Indian artist A.R. Rahman.
Secretary of the Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Tashi Dekyi, also attended the event alongside the Tibetan delegation.
