Dharamshala: The Department of Information and International Relations of the Central Tibetan Administration held a press conference on the first day of the 3-Day Special International Tibet Support Groups Meeting at Lhakpa Tsering Hall on 7 March 2026.
The declaration was presented during a media briefing addressed by Penpa Tsering, Sikyong of the Central Tibetan Administration, along with former Member of Parliament Rinchen Khandu Khrimey, National Convenor of the Core Group for Tibetan Cause (CGTC) and Kai Mueller, ICT Germany (representative of the Tibet Support Groups), announced the adoption of the Dharamshala Declaration at the Press Meet.
The press conference was coordinated by Additional Secretary Tenzin Lekshay, Spokesperson of the Central Tibetan Administration, who outlined the purpose of the conference and introduced more than 100 participants from 32 countries at the 3-Day Special International Tibet Support Group Meeting.
During the press conference, the Declaration of the Special International Tibet Support Groups Meeting was read out, reaffirming global solidarity with the Tibetan people; endorsing 14th Dalai Lama’s 2 July 2025 statement on reincarnation and affirming the exclusive authority of the Gaden Phodrang Trust; expressing strong support for the democratic leadership of the Central Tibetan Administration; and calling for the resumption of direct dialogue between the representatives of His Holiness the Dalai Lama or the elected Tibetan leadership and the Chinese government without preconditions.
