Dharamshala: The Central Tibetan Administration invoked Nechung, the official state oracle, at a brief ceremony held this morning at Thekchen Chöling Tsuglagkhang on 19 June 2024.
Tibetan leadership comprising Justice Commissioner Tenzin Lungtok, Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, Sikyong Penpa Tsering, Deputy speaker Dolma Tsering, Security Kalon (Minister) Gyari Dolma, DIIR Kalon (Minister) Norzin Dolma, Election and Public Service Commissioner Wangdu Tsering Pesur, along with the members of Tibetan Parliament’s Standing Committee, secretaries, senior officials and staff of various departments and autonomous bodies attended the ceremony.
The ceremony was also attended by members of the high-level delegation from the United Sates, namely Rep. Michael McCaul, the Chairman of House Foreign Affairs Committee; Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Speaker Emerita; Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA), House Veterans Affairs Committee; Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-NY), Ranking Member, House Foreign Affairs Committee; Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY), House Ways and Means Committee; Rep. Jim McGovern (D-MA), House Rules Committee; and Rep. Ami Bera (D-CA), House Foreign Affairs Committee.
