US Congressman Jim McGovern commends Tibet associations for COVID-19 relief fund.
Washington DC: US Congressman Jim McGovern commended Tibetan associations across the US for their collective donation of more than $35,000 to the Meals on Wheels program, which provides free meals to vulnerable people.
The Co-Chair of the Congressional-Executive Commission on China and of the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission was speaking at a virtual round-table discussion organised by the US-based ‘Students for Free Tibet’ on 11 May.
McGovern called the Tibetan contribution as “spirit-uplifting, especially in these trying times” and stressed that food security is both a national and global concern on which he has actively worked throughout his career.
