Representative Penpa Tsering left for Connecticut on July 6th to attend a celebration of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s birthday as the chief guest and address the Tibetan community of Connecticut. The Tibetan American Community of Connecticut hosted the celebration.
During his trip, he also visited Buddhist centers in and around Connecticut, and attended the Shoton festival in New York City on the 8th, organized by Tibet Fund and the Tibetan Community of New York & New Jersey.
In his address, Mr. Penpa Tsering talked about His Holiness’ three main commitments and stressed the importance of putting in His guidance in practice, which would be the best gift to offer on His birthday.
Mr. Penpa Tsering returned to Washington on July 9th.
