Sikyong being welcomed at the Ottawa international airport by representatives of the Tibetan community.
Ottawa: Following his visit to the United States, Sikyong Penpa Tsering of the Central Tibetan Administration arrived in Ottawa, capital of Canada on Monday, 2 May. Sikyong was given a warm welcome at the airport by the Executive Director of the Canada Tibet Committee (CTC) and the members of the Ottawa Tibetan Community Association and representatives of the Tibetan community in Canada.
Sikyong will be in Canada till 10 May. In Canada, Sikyong will visit Montreal and Toronto in addition to Ottawa city. During the visit, he will attend a reception organised by the Canadian Parliamentary Friends of Tibet, attend a reception organised by Canada Tibet Committee, address the Tibetan community of Ottawa, address the Tibetan community of Toronto at TCCC, visit local Tibetan religious institutions, address an informal hearing on Tibet, among others. He will also meet various dignitaries and Tibet supporters including Canadian MP Arif Virani, Senator Consiglio Di Nino, MPP Bhutila Karpoche, etc.
