He later had meetings with senior lawmakers Leader Nancy Pelosi, Rep. Jim McGovern, Rep. Eliot Engel and Rep. Joyce Beatty at the Leaders’ office where he presented an eight-point fresh appeal to which the lawmakers gave sympathetic hearing and pledged all the support at their disposal.

At the Heritage Foundation, an influential think tank to the new US administration, he spoke on “One China Policy and Middle Way Approach of the Tibetan People,” which was attended by more than fifty scholars and intellectuals. The day program concluded with the dinner reception by Capital Area Tibetan Association in honor of the president.
