Paris: On the eve of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to France to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with France, among other things, President Emmanuel Macron of France met with Sikyong Penpa Tsering at the Élysée Palace.
Sikyong Penpa Tsering made a brief yet consequential visit to Paris on the evening of 30 April 2024 to participate in the ceremony of the Legion of Honour being awarded to Andre Gattolin, a former French senator and a very good friend of Tibet.
During the ceremony, Sikyong Penpa Tsering presented an autographed picture of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Emmanuel Macron to the President of France and urged him not to forget Tibet.
