Dharamshala: On behalf of the Central Tibetan Administration and the Tibetan people, both inside Tibet and in exile, Sikyong Penpa Tsering penned a congratulatory letter to Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi on her 85th birthday to extend sincere well-wishes and express gratitude for her steadfast support of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Tibetans.
The letter reads, “Your allyship and presence in our struggle has breathed life into our cause. The legislative milestones for Tibet that you have championed in Congress have translated into tangible rays of hope for Tibetan people who have endured decades of repression. For this, words cannot fully express our boundless gratitude.”
To acknowledge Tibetan people’s deep gratitude for her life-long support, Sikyong wrote, “The cherished moments when you clasped hands with His Holiness the Dalai Lama during your visits to Dharamshala and your historic visit to Tibet are etched in the collective memory of Tibetans everywhere.”
“As you celebrate another year of your remarkable life, please know that the prayers and blessings of the Tibetan people, both within Tibet and around the world, are with you and your family. Your ongoing presence in American political life is vital not only for Tibet but also for all who cherish freedom and democracy across the globe,” the letter concluded.
