Washington DC: Representative Namgyal Choedup and Secretary Tashi Dhondup met Anjali Kaur, USAID’s Deputy Assistant Administrator of the Bureau for Asia; Theodora B Dell, USAID Director for South and Central Asia; Joel Taylor, Program Technical Specialist, India and Bhutan; Jennifer Lowry, India Director and Megan McLaughlin on Monday, January 10, 2022, via virtual meeting.
Theodora B Dell, USAID Director for South and Central Asia briefed on USAID programs for the Tibetan communities in India and Nepal. USAID helps Tibetan communities strengthen their self-reliance and resilience through sustainable livelihood programs. It also supports the CTA’s capacity-building programs, implementing a new digital management system, assisting diaspora outreach, and others.
Representative Choedup thanked USAID for their strong support to the Tibetan communities in India and Nepal through programs that are aimed at strengthening CTA’s institutional and capacity building and sustainable livelihood programs. The Representative raised a few questions and expressed his desire to work closely together with USAID.
Deputy Assistant Administrator Anjali Kaur assured USAID’s full support and expressed her willingness for continued collaboration with CTA and meeting in person soon.
