In response to an appeal made by the Office of Tibet on April, 27, 2015 to all Tibetan associations across North America, just mere two days after the devastating earthquake in Nepal, we are pleased to announce that to date the Office of Tibet has received $73,025.99, from Tibetan community members from across North America. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who have contributed. The funds have been sent to Nepal through the Central Tibetan Administration.
The funds are being used to provide relief to Tibetan families impacted by the devastating earthquake in Nepal by covering the medical expenses of those who were injured, and supporting the repairing and rebuilding of homes, offices, schools, etc.
We are still accepting contributions as the needs of the Tibetan community in Nepal far outstrip the resources currently available. Please make your contribution payable to the “Tibetan Community Development Fund” and mail it to: 1228 17th Street NW, Washington, DC 20036.
